Vaping Education Boot Camp

Goal: To educate parents, school personnel, counselors, and others wanting to learn the truth behind
smoking and vaping risks. To allow participantsto ask questions and gain insight regarding how to keep
teens/kids safer from smoking and vaping.

Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco Free Living isinvested in supporting youth and their parents by
providing them with updated information about current smoking and vaping concerns and cessation
resources.
Next Era is a statewide youth movement to promote healthier, tobacco-free and nicotine free lifestyles through local policy campaigns, public speaking, community organizing, and more.
CCCSWLA-Comprehensive Care Center of SW LA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit community-based
organization, incorporated in 1987. CCCSWLA provides quality, cost-effective and comprehensive primary
health care and support services in an environment that embraces compassion, kindness, and respect.
Current data shows that vape has tripled among both middle and high school students from 2015 to 2019 (Middle School (MS): from 5% in 2015 to 15% in 2019, High School (HS): from 9% in 2015 to 32% in 2019). 1 in 3 Louisiana high school students currently vape. To address this skyrocketing crisis, The Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living and Comprehensive Care Center of SW LA are collaborating to create “Vaping Education Boot Camp.”
This event will deliver information about smoking and vaping health concerns, cessation information, and other resources that parents, and others, can utilize to help support the youth and young people in their lives.
We are looking for mental health service providers, youth service providers, or others who work with
youth and young adults who might be interested in attending to share the resources they have.
